The Atlas will be an evidence and data bank for all the stakeholders involved in eye care. In the present form it is designed around the data set of National Blindness Survey based on RAAB methodology which was conducted by R P Centre in collaboration with the NPCB & VI.

Other important surveys of National significance which are included in this segment of NPCB& VI Vision Atlas are National Trachoma Survey and Diabetic Retinopathy surveys.

In the later versions of the Atlas we hope to include the trends of Blindness and other disease specific surveys conducted in the country. It would also include the eye care facility mapping.
